December Reviews

Hello Everyone,

The manufacturers have taken a break on releasing new bowling balls, so I am going to recap on some of the recent releases that will be excellent gifts for the holidays.

Storm Physix

Asymmetrical

Hybrid

RG 2.48

Diff 0.053

INT DIFF 0.017

Storm Physix has a design intended to have hook potential between the Sure Lock and the Code X for ball reaction. This one has a new designed core (atomic core). The coverstock is hybrid with two parts solid and one part pearl. This ball reads the midlane and has strong backend motion.Definitely a ball for moderate to oily conditions.
Track Paradox V

Asymmetrical

Pearl

RG 2.48

Diff 0.057

INT DIFF 0.015

Track Paradox V is an extension of the popular Paradox series. The I-Core 2.0 Dual Density Core with the Prime Pearl creates strength in the midlane and strong continuation on backend. This one will be a good medium hook ball.
Hammer Rip’D Peal

Asymmetrical

Pearl

RG 2.48

Diff 0.054

INT DIFF 0.014

Hammer Rip’D Pearl uses the Aggression Pearl CFI coverstock wrapped around the strong Rip’D Asym Core.Even though this is a pearl cover, the ball reads the midlane very well with strong continuous backend.Excellent on moderate conditions.
Roto Grip Halo

Asymmetrical

Solid

RG 2.49

Diff 0.050

INT DIFF 0.018

The Halo is very good for heavy oil conditions. The Centrum Core has very strong numbers. The Micro Trax-S18 cover has very strong traction so ball reads the midlane on high volumes of oil.
Legend

Cores

Asymmetrical – more track flare, stronger hook off the friction.

Symmetrical – less track flare, longer skid, later hook

Covers

Solid – earlier hook, smoother down lane

Hybrid – medium skid, hooks in the mid-lane

Pearl – longest skid, latest hook

REMEMBER: Your revolution rate and ball speed have a dramatic effect on when and how much your ball hooks. The drilling layout is also an important variable that has an influence on your bowling balls motion. The bowling ball surface can be modified to adjust when your ball hooks. Consult your pro shop for options on matching you to a ball for your needs.
